Kid Questions – “Is all the Bible true?”

Kid Questions bannerWe wanted to start answering questions put to us by kids, so if you’re a child and reading this then get your parents to send us one in – we will answer it for you! Here is our first one:

Joel from Texas asks – is all the Bible true?

Firstly, great question Joel! Sadly, there are many people in the world who do not believe that the whole Bible is true. However, I am glad to tell you that the Bible is all true, every word of it! Remember we want all of our answers to come from the Bible so I will share some Bible verses along the way!

The Bible is a book that teaches the history of what God has done and will do. Everything in the Bible points us to the truth that Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of the world (John 3:16). It is a book of true history and is not a book of myths or make believe stories. Even the stories of miracles such as God stopping storms, healing the sick, and raising people from the dead are ALL true stories! How can I know this? Because God is the true author of the Bible and He could never lie because He is truth (John 14:6)! You see people wrote down the words of the Bible but it is actually ‘God-breathed‘ meaning that God inspired the people to write what He wanted them to!

‘All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,’

2 Timothy 3:16

The Bible has been proven true over and over again over the years and you can trust it! Think about it, if the Bible was just a bunch of made up stories by people wouldn’t the authors have made themselves and their ancestors look great like in other myths? But the Bible teaches the true facts about people, even their darkest sins. So while we were not there when David was King of Israel, we can trust God that David did what the Bible says he did. While we were not there when Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we can, by faith, believe that He died for our sins and rose again! We can have faith in who God is and what God says to us and with good reason- for God is good and trustworthy.

If anyone reading this has not yet trusted that all of the Bible is true I pray that you will do so. If you have not yet trusted Jesus as your Savior and given Him your life I pray that you do so. For a God that can stop storms and raise the dead can certainly save you from your sins and transform your life (John 3:16, Romans 12:1-2).

Thank you Joel for your question! God bless you and be sure to thank God for His true book the Bible. By which we have learned about our great Savior Jesus Christ!

Your Friend,

Pastor Dave
